Common Questions
Everything you need to know about our gentle coastal walks around Cobh and Cathedral Hill
Our Cobh Harbour walks cover roughly 2–3 miles at a leisurely pace with multiple rest stops along the waterfront. The Cathedral Hill routes are shorter, between 1.5–2.5 miles depending on which scenic loop you choose, with benches positioned at every viewpoint so you can pause whenever you'd like.
We move at a comfortable pace – think 2–2.5 miles per hour – with regular stops to take in the views, chat about the history, or simply catch your breath. Our guides are trained to support different fitness levels, and nobody's rushing. It's about enjoying the experience, not ticking boxes.
Not at all. These walks are designed specifically for active seniors – you don't need to be a hiker or have any special experience. If you're comfortable walking around your neighbourhood, you're ready to join us. We'll talk you through what to expect beforehand so there are no surprises.
We monitor the forecast carefully and won't set out in heavy rain or strong winds – safety comes first. If conditions change mid-walk, we've got shorter alternative routes we can take, or we'll head to a café to finish our time together indoors. You'll always know the plan ahead of time.
You're welcome to bring a friend or family member – many people do. We run group walks so you'll meet other locals and visitors with similar interests, but it's never crowded. It's genuinely sociable without being forced, and you get a proper guide who knows the area inside out.
Get in touch through our contact page to book – we'll give you all the details you need. Bring comfortable walking shoes, a light layer for the wind, and water. We've got a full packing checklist if you'd like more guidance.
